The drive unit which comprises the engine (1) and gearbox (2) is integrated in a chassis frame (4) which is connected to an independent secondary frame (5) which supports the driver seat (8). The secondary frame is connected to the chassis frame through vibration-damping elements to decouple the vibrations between the two frames. The engine can be a diesel engine. The drive unit and/or diesel engine can be a mass-produced engine of a passenger vehicle .
