The torque transmission unit has each of two transmission input shafts (2,3) coupled to the engine's crankshaft (4) by means of a friction clutch (10,11) each of which has drive side and driven side friction units (10a,11a) which by axial pressure along a rotational axis (2a) of at least one of the input shafts interact with one another to create a friction engagement. The friction units are formed from a number of friction partners (12a,12b,13a,13b) in a layered arrangement in the axial direction and alternating on the drive side and driven side. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a double clutch transmission with the aforesaid torque transmission unit; (B) a drive train with an internal combustion engine and double clutch transmission with the aforesaid torque transmission unit between them; and (C) a use for the torque transmission unit which is in the drive train in a motor vehicle.
