A matrix comprising ligands, which are linearly arranged on a surface of adsorbent threads, is new. The threads are parallely arranged in a flow direction of blood in a cylindrical housing, and are in round or ellipsoidal form. The threads have a diameter of about 10-1000 micrometers and a length of about 5-35 centimeters. The number of the thread can range between 50 and 50000.
