The natural optical properties of certain stone materials are used to provide a lighting effect for buildings. A bar [1] of the material has a groove formed on the rear surface into which is set an electrical power cable [2]. The cable connects with a number of light emitting diodes, LED [3], that are set into the stone and which provide the lighting.
