The mechanism (500) has a data cartridge (100) which is transferred from a cell to another cell in magazines (200) that face each other, by reversing the picker mechanism using a swivel mechanism. A feeding section has a picker arm fixed by a notch on a side of the data cartridge. A feeding section driving mechanism moves the feeding section in a direction intersecting a direction of rotation of the picker mechanism. An independent claim is also included for a library device having a drive device to read and write data.
