The solar heating system has one or more shading devices (3) which temporarily wholly or partially cover the effective collector (1) surfaces when an upper temperature value in the solar heating system or parts of it is reached. The shading device is kept closed by a locking system following a very high solar energy availability and/or with functioning faults, with component defects, during maintenance and repair work and during other hazardous situations. The shading device is opened when a predetermined lower temperature in the solar heating system is reached.
