The drive (2) has several wheel axles (3-6) including a drive wheel axle (10) coupled to an electric motor by a transmission and to at least one further wheel axle by coupling rods (11,12) on both wheel outsides. Each coupling rod is joined to the outer wheel sides of the associated wheel axles by bolts (15,16). At least one bolt is rigidly coupled to each coupling rod, especially made in one piece with it, pressed into it with no play or rigidly fixed to it with another connection. An independent claim is also included for a model railway locomotive.
