The fitting has a lifting unit that shifts a hinge support (12) to a distant position from a console, when the lifting unit is displaced from a normal usage position. A hinge side fixing point (3) moves on a circular path around a catch side fixing point, during sudden rising of a front hood. A captivation unit determines the position of the support through movement paths of the lifting unit and the fixing point (3). An independent claim is also included for a holding arrangement for holding an actuating unit in a pre-stressed spring unloading - standby position.
