A protocol conversion circuit receives signals complying with protocol used by master and converts the received signals into signals complying with an intermediary protocol used by an internal bus of a slave. A transform circuit converts the signals from the protocol conversion circuit into signals complying with protocol used by the slave. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) signal conversion and arbitration method; (2) method for master accessing an external memory through corresponding slave; and (3) system with a memory controller.
