Production of a three-dimensional cam used for variable actuation of lifting valves in internal combustion engines comprises creating an elevation section and a circular cylindrical section from parts of the periphery of a rotation body
Production of a three-dimensional cam with an elevation section (1), a basic circular cylindrical section (2) and an axis of rotation (3) that drives a cam follower comprises creating the elevation section and the basic circular cylindrical section from at least parts of a peripheral surface (5) of a rotation body (4) that lies in contact with the cam over its entire axial length (11). During production of the basic circular cylindrical section, the axis of rotation (6) of the rotation body crosses the axis of rotation of the cam at a first or a second crossing angle (7, 8). During production of the elevation section, the axis of rotation of the rotation body performs a spatial movement relative to the axis of rotation of the cam that involves rotation about an axis of rotation (12) from the first crossing angle to the second crossing angle. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Device for producing a three-dimensional cam; and (2) Three-dimensional cam.
