The latch mechanism housing plate (11) has a fish mouth (14) lined up with door striker (50). Latch bolt (12) is biased clockwise on pivot (46) retained in the locked position by pawl (13). Overmolded buffers (20,22) with resilience openings (26) cushion abutment (44) and pawl (38) impacts respectively. The third overmolded large buffer (24) with two resilience cavities (30,32) absorbs the latch over-travel buffer impact (42) of door closing.
