Variable rings consisting of different materials can be combined with different basic and ornamental elements, e.g. of gold, silver, or platinum, stainless steel, diamonds, or colored acrylic glass. All elements within one ring size are plugged together to determine ring size and width. One basic element of stainless steel is U-shaped with outer edges of different lengths, or double U-shaped. An ornamental element has a rectangular extension on one outer edge, and this fits into an aperture of the basic elements.
