The engine has a piston (1) that does not move in a fixed rigid cylinder head but the cylinder (2) is mounted in a rotary ring (7). The piston is connected to a crankshaft (3) that can rotate contrary to the rotary ring rotation. A gear wheel connection (4) is used, whereby the crankshaft and rotary ring rotate in opposition over 360 degrees and the piston achieves the higher working speed to enable the working cycles of 4-stroke, 2-stroke and rotary engines to be combined.
