The device enhancing the road-holding capability of tires during driving comprises at least one microwave radiator which, being incorporated into the vehicle bodywork, irradiates the tire running surface with an energy causing rapid heating and softening of this surface. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle tire made of a rubber material especially absorbent of microwave radiation.
