A knitted fire-retardant twin-layered fabric has a first yarn that is a combination of 50% polyamide-imide and 50% viscose, and a second yarn that is polyamide-imide. The first yarn is employed at knitting stations 1, 3, 5 and has a feed length of about 734 cm. The second yarn is employed at knitting stations 2, 4, 6 and has a feed length of about 532 cm. The knitted fabric weighs about 146 g/m(2. The strength of the first and second yarns is about Nm70/1. The feed length is set by quality wheels. The diameter set for the first yarn is 137 mm at a ratio of 20 Z. The commensurate setting for the second yarn is 160 mm and 32 Z. The rib height is 1.2.
