The assembly for a simultaneous treatment of sewage and organic residue gives anaerobic conditions where the sewage and organic matter pass through a two-stage reactor to give a hydrolysis and acid removal zone and a zone to produce methane. The reactor has an outer chamber (1) separated from an inner chamber (2) by a sieve plate (3) to retain solids and organic residue. The assembly for a simultaneous treatment of sewage and organic residue gives anaerobic conditions where the sewage and organic matter pass through a two-stage reactor to give a hydrolysis and acid removal zone and a zone to produce methane.
