Arrangement for contactless measurement of the position of an object relative to a start position, e.g. for measuring filling level in a container, comprises a magnet arrangement with a support or mounting for an object or float. The magnet arrangement comprises at least two magnets (2) that are symmetrically arranged about a rotation axis (1). Rotation of the magnets causes a changing magnetic field, which is detected by a sensor arrangement.
