A demountable packing crate for multiple journeys has a base (1) and two side panels (2a, 2b) as well as front and back panels (4a, 4b) and a top panel (6). The separate components are clipped together by interlocking plastic extrusion strips (8) fitted to the inside edges of the panels. The strips comprise two types of profile; one male and one female, to provide a secure fitting. The strips can be made of recycled plastic to which can be added colour pigment and a lubricant. The interlocking strips are linked by a sliding action with integral stops to limit the slide and secure the fitting. The panels can be made of strand board or similar materials. The base is further strengthened by support runners on the underside. The empty crate can be returned in a knock down state.
