A method for preparing and serving a cooled drink, e.g. cooled tea, has the bottom part of the serving glass (10) filled to a first mark (18) with a mix of flavourings, ice cubes and other solid items leaving space at the top of the glass to hold an infusion insert (11) which sits on the lip of the glass via a wide upper flange. The insert is filled with a hot infusion which is subsequently mixed with the rest of the drink by the customer, filling the glass to a second marked level (19). The mixed drink is sufficiently cooled for drinking.
