A rectifier circuit for suppressing the propagation of electrical interference from a cold cathode light source and its drive circuit has a driver unit (22a) and a control unit (21) that are bridged over or connected to each other. This is done by an isolation unit (24a) in order to separate and earth the driver and control units on both sides of a wound or piezoelectric transformer, and thus suppress the transmission of electrical interference.
