Device for determining the ion permeability of organic and or inorganic membranes comprises two horizontally supported glass cylinders (10), which are each connected at one end to an electrode (11) to permit the transmission of a driving voltage. Between the cylinders is a tensioning device with which a membrane (13) is held clamped in a fluid-tight manner.
