Adapter (2) contains at least one horizontal threaded bore extending parallel to the sight support surface for receiving a threaded part secured to the sight mounting (1) or to components connected to the latter. The adapter also contains at least one vertical threaded bore for receiving a threaded part used to press the adapter against the gun, either directly or indirectly via an intermediate part when the adapter is screwed to the gun. The adapter has dovetail-shaped undercuts.
