The production line has a stamping device (14) with upper and lower machine parts (24, 26). A magazine is provided on one side of the stamping device (14) on the upper machine part to hold several stamping tools (28, 32). The magazine can be moved so that a previously determined stamping tool can be selectively moved level with the region between the upper and lower machine parts. A first transfer device removes a stamping tool inserted in the one machine part, sets it down in the magazine and removes a further tool and inserts it into the corresponding machine part. A breaker mechanism (16) connected in after the stamping device separates out the blanks.
