A locking ring (LR) (Nr.1) has a 2/2.75-inch tube thread (Nr.2) of, which is held for a very short time, so that the LR can be used for all gas meter inflow fittings. The LR has a height (Nr.4) of 8 mm and a diameter (Nr.6) of 75 mm. In the ring there are four notches (Nr.3) with 4 mm holes/grooves (Nr.5) with a width of 6 mm, so as to turn the LR against a meter union nut with a sickle spanner.
