A safety barrier system has a one piece plastic moulding, e.g. hollow moulding, with separate panels between two hollow uprights (2) which can be fitted over upright support rods. Some sections are provided with sockets (10) for reflectors, lights etc. and one section has a gridded structure (5). Tactile markings enable blind persons to identify the barrier.
