The mobile grill unit (10) has two box elements (12,14) whereby the front sides each have an opening for access to the cooking unit on top in a cooking position. The box elements are connected to connecting elements (16) so that for transport purposes the two openings are closed up to form a closed housing. Cover elements (18) fitting onto the top sides of the box elements connect with the connecting elements to provide secure unit. The underneath of the boxes have foldaway or removable wheels. The box elements have carrying handles (24) on the outsides.
