The box (15) has two housing shells connected to one another on its front/face side and including external threads. The incoming and outgoing sides of the shells have seating surfaces to receive a circular sealing unit (7). The sealing unit is pressed against the shells, when a cap nut having a cone is screwed onto the threads, to hermetically seal both incoming and outgoing sides of the cable housing.
