The device has an elongated test rod (1) with an outer surface (2) and longitudinal ends (3,4), one consisting of a cold test head (5) of a good thermal conductor material and the other of a hot test head (6) of a poor thermal conductor material. A quiver (11) for storing a number of straight test bristles (12) is provided inside the rod and is closed by a cover that contains one of the test heads. The rod has a transversely protruding holder for fixing a single contact test bristle.
