The support mast (1) consists of a metal, vertically installed pillar (3) with an open profile cross section, and an extension section (4) which is fastened to the pillar with height adjustment capability. The extension section bears on two opposite sides of the pillar. The extension section has two brackets which accommodate the pillar between them. The extension section has a mounting face (9) which enables the mounting of different structures supported by the mast. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a sign support in the form of the proposed support mast; and (B) a utility line bridge for electricity cables or pipes.
