The lifting device for a motor vehicle has lifting platform (2) with an over-run track (3) for the wheels of the vehicle. A pivotable roll-off blocker (10) is provided at least in the end of each over-run track and includes a rocker (11), whereby the front section of the rocker has a stopper (14) which can be extended upwards from the over-run track. The over-run track has an end plate (16) upon is supported the stopper, and the rear section of the rocker has a greater weight than the whole front section of the rocker. The stopper is pivot-mounted on the front section of the rocker.
