The chuck has a tensioning rope (2.13) whose length is adjusted by an adjusting device. An additional fixing of a rectangular job piece or a circular job- piece (8) is brought about via the tensioning rope by tensioning effect of tensioning clamps. A slidable adjusting piece is mounted on the clamps along with a pedal. Clamping down force of the chuck is increased through the pedal with a counter weight.
