The collapsible wooden stool for use by children has a semi-circular foot (2) with a radial slit, on to which a slit in the base of a back rest (1) is fitted to form a cross. A tongue on the back of a seat (3) is slotted through one of a series of slots (1a, 1d) in the back rest, allowing it to be fitted at different heights, and is fixed in place by a vertical bolt. Independent claims are included for the foot, back rest, seat and bolt.
