The mechanism is mechanically coupled to the blind and the electric motor drive has two separate electric motors (13, 15) providing movement of the blinds. The motor propels the movement of the blind to an open and closed position with each motor working against each other to provide a brake system. Continuous toothed belts (7, 8) provide traction for the motors.
