The powered roller conveyer (1) has rollers (2) rotated by a drive belt (3). They are mounted on fixed axles (14) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the conveyer. Pressure rollers (5) may be moved upward to press the top run of the belt against pairs of rollers (P). The pressure rollers are mounted on pairs of links (7) pivoting on longitudinal frame members and their axles may move in angled cam slots in the rail. Brake pads may engage with the rollers when the pressure rollers are lowered.
