Door or window element has the following : a frame (1) for holding a flat glazing unit (7) and sealing strips (12, 13) between the profiled sections (3) of the frame and the flat unit. Between the edges of the frame and the flat unit at least a layer of glue is applied. At least one of the sealing strips (12) has a first area for sealing-off the outer or inner gap between the flat element and the profiled section, while a second completely or at least partially seals off the glazing rebate (19) of the glass pane. The invention also relates to a corresponding sealing strip for an inventive window or door element.
