The combination comprises a funnel-shaped sounding horn made from wood which is mounted on a conically-diverging elbow made from brass. The elbow is secured to the downwards-pointing end of the instrument so that the elbow bore slants upwards. A cylindrical socket for the sounding horn is provided at one end of the elbow.
