A transport container has a rectangular frame with four upright corner posts, each terminating in a socket (7). The socket serves to receive two upright posts (3, 4) that are linked by a crossbar (2). The crossbar marks the position of the container on the ground for an approaching fork lift truck driver. After removal of the upright posts (3, 4) and crossbar (2) the basket is stacked.
