The renovation system uses a preferably metal frame with step covering (5) which fits onto the existing concrete support plate. The frame is in two parts with a guide part (3) having an L or U profile in mechanical load-bearing connection with the building. An insert (9) matching the side of the guide part has stays for holding the step covering which is sealed on the insert... The frame is slightly oversized in relation to the step cover to ensure drainage away from the insert.
