The device for the supporting of the trailing edge of at least one sheet in the sheet deliverer of a press has on a size-adjustable support unit above an auxiliary piling unit (2) one or more separating elements installed to pivot in a sheet feed direction (R) from a position parallel to the trailing edge (H) of the main sheet pile (7) into the piling area of the sheet deliverer (1). Each separating element has an auxiliary separating element forming a support section which with the main separating element tapers from the middle of the piling area outwards to the edges of the sheet pile.
