The packing tulip for the gripping around the top of bottles sealed by corks, crown corks, screwtops or cliplocks has a sleeve-form elastically deformable insert (5) supported by its front end on the top edge of a cup-shaped housing (1). An operating plunger (2) acts on the rear side of the insert with an axial pressure force. The housing in the front section is formed by a wall (1a) which is elastically deformable radially outwards. The front edge section of the wall is axially deformable in the direction towards the operating plunger.
