The buffer has a casing (6) ending at a base plate for attachment of the buffer to a frame of a railed vehicle. A pusher (5) carries a buffer plate at its end. The casing is adjusted, with respect to the case length, outside diameter, and dimension of a groove, to the dimensions of the pusher changed by wear. The inner side of the casing and a spring mounting dimension are adjusted to the dimension of the pusher.
