A protective plate (8) shaped like a circular disk extends radially outwards and fits on the front side of an armature end winding (6) on a side opposite a ventilating fan wheel (7). The protective plate partly reaches inwards as far as the area of a shaft (2), especially as far as a collector fitted on the shaft. The protective plate has a positive fit and fastens on the collector (9) with snap-in pins. The area between the protective plate and the armature (3) is compound-filled with a casting compound.
