The door has at least one panel movable in the longitudinal direction, suspended in a carrying guide and movable between a closed position in the vehicle wall and a displaced position in front of the wall. A force for displacing the carrying guide is derived from the reaction force of a door drive device. A rotary fluid motor (9) is used as a drive device, whose output shaft is connected to a device for producing a displacement movement of the door panels (1A,1B). The reaction force is taken off at the motor housing.
