Ribbed construction for a collapsible sunshade, especially folded five times, comprises five ribs (1-5) and several branching ribs and flexible ribs. The third rib has on its inner end a bending section and during closing of the sunshade the fourth rib hangs adjacent to the end of the second rib provided with a hinge and the third rib to reduce the volume of the closed sunshade. Preferred Features: The fourth rib has on its inner end a bending section with a bending direction that runs in the opposite direction to the bending section of the third rib.
