An LED chip (1) contains a III-V semiconductor material as a layer (2) of functional material as well as confinement layers. An optical filter absorbs radiation with a wavelength that is greater than the wavelength of a maximum sensitivity. The semiconductor material has a high quantum efficiency and is often used in luminous diodes.
