The invention relates to a fixing device, an electrographical appliance and a corresponding method. Said fixing device is provided with a heated roller (2) and a pressure roller (3) which is applied to the heated roller with pressure. The pressure and heat of the two cylinders (2,3) can be used to fix a non-fixed toner image to a recording medium (5) which is guided through the rollers (2, 3). The heated roller (2) is acted upon by a liquid separating agent (15), which is applied perpendicularly to the displacement direction of the recording medium (5) and at least over the width of the recording medium (5), in order to facilitate the separation of the fixed recording medium (5) from the heated roller (2). The pressure roller (3) is provided with a wiping blade (8) which is used to wipe off the excess separating agent (15) transferred from the heated roller (2) to the pressure roller (3). The separating agent (15) wiped off by the wiping blade (8) is collected in a collecting container (9) which is embodied as a trough and extends over the entire application width of the heated roller (2).
