The play elimination device includes an elastic element (50) with first (52) and second (62) torsion springs, fitted between the third torque-transmitting gear wheel (28) and a shaft (32). The torsion springs are arranged so that the windings of the first one are in the interstices of the second. The prestressed elastic element acts on the third and fourth torque-transmitting gear wheels (28,38) as they rotate round the shaft with torque in opposite directions, thereby ensuring that the first and second gear wheels (4,8) remain engaged.
