Each cutting shear (2, 2) used to cut the strips or sheets, each shear (3, 3) used to cut up the strips into finer pieces and each drive roller pair (4, 4, 5, 5) are combined in at least one basis body. The device has one basis body which is fixed and one basis body which is movable and fixable into position in order to vary the cutting width.
