A hidden hinge for a window or door has the fixed frame (14) fitted with on hinge plate (10) with a first axis (26) and the movable frame fitted with a second hinge plate (16) with a second axis (28) parallel to the first axis. The two axes are linked by a connecting lever (24) and with a leaf spring connecting the two pivots to drive the connecting lever into an extended position when the door/window is opened. This allows the movable frame to swing fully open without snagging the fixed frame. The ends of the leaf spring are bent over to locate in radial slots in the two mountings.
