PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize consecutive photographing by reducing a photographing time while avoiding deterioration in the picture quality at the time of photographing at a dark place. ;SOLUTION: First image data is obtained by exposing an image pickup element 14 for a first exposure time (T1) in the state of opening an optical path opening and closing means 12 and second image data is obtained by exposing the element 14 for a second exposure time (Ta) in the state of closing the means 12. The second image data is corrected based on the first exposure time and the first image data is corrected through the use of the corrected second image data. Time required for photographing of long-period exposure can be the sum of the first exposure time (T1) and the second exposure time (Ta) by simple calculation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
